Bass Neck Blocks

Recommended Posts

I have 2 well aged, precut Birdseye maple bass neck blocks for sale that I acquired many years ago from my mentor Earsel Atchley.   These were originally from the remaining stock of wood & tools from the Rodier Bros. Violin Shop and Factory that operated in Kanas City from 1910 to 1954.    The Rodier basses were mostly large ⅞ size, so there is lots of excess wood on the heel end.  No cracks.  Interestedly, Rodier glued old sales receipts over the wood end grain as part of the wood drying process.

Overall length 32+”, 3” deep,  5” width at scroll,  9+” width at heel .   Weight about 7 lbs each.

$100 each or $175 for both plus shipping costs.  If you live in or near Kansas City, you can pick them up.

Please PM me if interested.
