Omobono Posted September 11, 2018 Report Posted September 11, 2018 Interesting insights into lives of the contributors here. Congratulations. Martin, on your move and hope your impending 'decrepitude' is not all that imminent, Jeffrey. Nice studio. Whose portrait is on the wall with the massive viola or baby cello?

It's a woodblock print of Paul Hindemith by an east coast artist named Dan Miller.
Omobono Posted September 12, 2018 Report Posted September 12, 2018 Impressive..... so it is a big viola.

J-G Posted September 12, 2018 Report Posted September 12, 2018 Ah, Hindemith. An old retired symphony violist who had seen him play in NYC told me: "He played the viola like he was digging his grave!" I took that as a positive thing: committed.
Omobono Posted September 13, 2018 Report Posted September 13, 2018 Speaking of big violas...... Scary......

I've been a bit busy in that department myself. I also have cooking capacities in the shop. Didn't think I'd care about that aspect,, but I find it very handy. Building things up while trying to run a business is challenging, but worth it! Front room and deck: Nice front deck, with a top desk To put a violin on, the legs of the desk are one of the best designed

Wood Butcher Posted September 17, 2018 Report Posted September 17, 2018 Another show workshop that the strad would like to feature! Needs a few more busts around the place, and some flowers

I vacuum regularly, Jacob. :-) There is another work area that tends to collect ore wood chips, but I do have a tendency to keep things clean.
