Guy Harrison Posted November 10, 2017 Report Posted November 10, 2017 I received the November issue of 'the Strad' today with the poster of the Guarneri violin 1732, ‘Armingaud, Fernández Blanco’. On the back of the poster, the outline of the violin back appears to me not to be the ‘Armingaud, Fernández Blanco’ Guarneri ‘del Gesù’ violin. It neither matches the outline of the photographed violin or the measurements given. It seems to be another violin, perhaps some Stradivari violin? Has someone else noticed this? Or perhaps I’m missing something here.
James M. Jones Posted November 10, 2017 Report Posted November 10, 2017 Sometimes the designers uses a standard template for the outline and then fill in thickness measurements.
Guy Harrison Posted November 10, 2017 Author Report Posted November 10, 2017 Just now, James M. The thickness measurements on this poster are separate and sized very small.
