Interesting Wood / Bow ID?

This bow came with the violin I posted about at ...

 

 

...and I really have no idea what wood this is! The grain is very unique but it's particularly unique at the tip. Anybody has any clues?

The bow has no markings, and the frog seems more like rosewood than ebony. The stick is 73cm long.

Both. It's the typical homegrown japanese wood, the frog of some brownish colour or dyed black, and brass mounts. Possibly there's a small flower, Lotos or Chrysantheme, stamped somewhere over the frog.

They were, as I was informed, mostly exported to the US during WW I, when german bows weren't available.
