Restored Violin

Since the last post I thought some might like to see the violin "after" pics.  The sound is very deep and warm, and I am very happy with the work Peter Horn did. I look forward to hearing its sound after the music has been played back into it. To think it would have been trashed, makes me even happier seeing how beautiful it turned out.

I bought a Ludwig Koschat violin maybe 15 years ago and then had a standing search on ebay for this maker. Bought about six more over 12 to 15 year period. They had the features of your instrument, even the pegs. I sold them by consigning them to a major midwestern brick and mortar store, retail price being between $650 and $800.

Sometimes I wish there were an ASPCV: American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Violins.

The original pegs were ebony, my daughter prefers the pegs he put in.   I still have the originals should we decide down the road to change them out.
