Davide Sora
Does anyone have news of this German fittings maker? I had met him a few years ago at Mondomusica here in Cremona and his work had struck me, but now I can not find much news about him. His website seems a little abandoned and updated only in 2009 and in german only (I don't understand a word of german...), in the last editions of mondomusica I have not seen it yet. Maybe some German makers who attends this forum can give me some information? I would like to contact him.

I could not find much either, but I use Google Chrome Browser and it will translate the pages for you. I seen his info on the STRD site (just showing contact info)
baroquecello
He still exists and is making the Fittings. I had contact with him last year. A Student of mine has a very good sounding Cello with a tail Piece by him and I was interested in his work. He seems to believe that (for Cello) short and light is the key and has Special specifications for how to fit the tail pieces. Depending on the afterlength, he will make a tail Piece of different length. In the end I decided not to buy one as I thought it was quite expensive for no succes guaranteed, and I'd have needed to travel to Hannover for it, because he only Trusts lutiers specifically instructed by him on how to fit his tail pieces, and otherwise wants to fit them himself. And a lutier I trust told me he removed such a tail piece that was causing acoustic Problems. (It may have been altered by someone though)
Davide Sora
Thanks Carl1961 and Baroquecello, nice to know he is still working, maybe I will try to contact him by email for a price list and other details. I also noticed that fortunately he have the english version catalog of his products on his website, so I can try to understand something more..... Did someone else have any experience with these ErgoVio fittings?
WorksAsIntended
I have all my fittings made by him, "my" violin maker only uses them. I also know other premium fitters and ErgoVio can compete quite well, in wood choosen and in crafting. I talked to the owner a couple of months ago, he is still active and I think its going well enough that he will be there the next years. I know Rittwagen and if I remember correctly Radke use his fittings, both are quite nice on the phone and speak a bit of English, if you want to talk to them. Michael Szyper
ErgoVio is the manufacturer of the "Senza system" tailpiece, which has been discussed here a few weeks ago. I don't now if the "senza" is really the next big thing, but the fittings i've seen made by ergovio were pretty nice.
WorksAsIntended
The senza system is a customer of him, yes.
Davide Sora
I like the style of ErgoVio fittings, but I'm not really interested in the Senza System. Maybe I'm too conservative but I do not think innovations in this field give significant improvement margins, except from marketing point of wiew.... WorksAsIntended
As I said, that is a customer not ErgoVio itself.
