Rue Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 Just now, Stavanger said: More like a drop of varnish? Shush! Not nearly as mysterious!
duane88 Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 Obviously, it is the Red Violin! That gives us blood as varnish. A twofer!
martin swan Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 Looks more MK than Mirecourt to me, but as Rue says, more conventional profiles would be handy
not telling Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 I love it when a great mystery is solved--awesome job Duane. I also love how none of the musicians, characters, or luthiers in The Red Violin ever existed, but I think that was just subterfuge of some sort, because look---obviously it is real. The instrument, the genuine Red Violin--there is is! How did you ever figure it out with just a few crappy photos? What else do I love? The OP's handle.
Noob777 Posted July 27, 2017 Author Report Posted July 27, 2017 Here are Some better pictures Thanks for intrest
martin swan Posted July 27, 2017 Report Posted July 27, 2017 Markneukirchen I would say. I have seen Mirecourt violins that are quite similar but the varnish wipe on the edges and the scroll are not typical of Mirecourt.

If it is Mirecourt it has higher linings and more square shaped blocks.
