A 1949 Lyon & Healy catalog included a #8662, describing it as Brescian, 1690, medium high model, formerly in the collection of Carlos de Mandel, light brown varnish, priced at $800.

Interesting, does the number 3497 appear in their catalogs anywhere?  I have an old violin that has this number on a paper label inside.  Thanks

A 1946 William Lewis & Sons catalog included a #3497, describing it as Mittenwalld, red-brown varnish, two-piece back, priced at $150.
