Three years and still not done?  Dwight Brown's VSA viola took only months.  After all Neil contributed here you would think it would have been completed sooner....and what is the status of Craig Tucker's tribute violin?

hi Ernie-- we had the opportunity to showcase that viola at the VSA convention, if you recall, and that made the deadline more pressing.

  • 1 year later...

On the fifth anniversary of Neil's passing, here are photos of the completed violin which will be presented to the Head of Strings at St Mary's Music School later this week.

One graphic artist, two amateur makers and 7 professional makers in the US and Europe were involved in getting the violin past the finish line.

Thanks for posting the pictures, Janito.  Its great to see the project at the finish line, especially with all the difficulty and tragedy in the world since 2020.

Five years have sure flown by.  I still feel lucky to have gotten to meet Neil, and I feel grateful that so many of Neil's friends wanted to do this project.  Organizing a project like this turned out to be more difficult than I imagined, and I would like to thank everybody that not only worked on the instrument, but kept the project going behind the scenes.

I am also sad that Addie and Craig Tucker passed during this project.  They both helped the project, and were a pleasure to talk with along the way.

Did we put together an Addie memorial?

Thanks for asking!

I had a lot of contact with "Addie" (I do know who he was), I bought the book he really wanted for him!

I also made a library for all his superb drawings

I'm not popular on this Forum, but I do/did love "Addie"!

I'll make a violin for him if no one else do......

I will also give it to his nearest.
