I ask this question every convention to see if some of us could get together and compare notes and fiddles.  I'd love to meet and have breakfast or something and just talk fiddles.  Surly we can work this in if we meet early or late before the lectures start. Mike and Don are good about coming around and talking, I'd like to get a whole table full of people.  We have a huge amount of knowledge here and we should share it, besides it's just fun to talk.  I will be there from beginning to end and rooming with Bruce Babbitt, and Rod Mohr.  The room is in Bruce's name.

Can't wait

I'm going, would not mind taking a rider along to share driving.  Coming from North Carolina.   Have booked airline but would rather drive. Wifey-poo won't let me drive the whole thing in a day, and cant make the numbers work if I have to stay overnight going and coming.

Anyone going from Kentucky, Tennessee, or maybe Virginia?  The more I think about checking luggage and violins and paying for check luggage, the more I would prefer driving up.  Late model hybrid sedan, 38mpg.  Anyone need a ride and can keep me awake?

How would you guys travel from the aiport to the Renessaince Cleveland hotel? - By rapid rail (RTA red line) or by taxi?

I wonder if it is safe and easy to take the rapid RTA red line and get to the hotel safely.

The train goes from the airport directly to the downtown complex where the hotel is located (although there are several stops along the way).  You never even have to go outside at any time.  It seemed safe to me when I took it (2010 and 2012), and definitely convenient and inexpensive.

Thanks, Don!

I will be arriving Saturday afternoon.  As usual, I will have my emergency polishing kit with me.  If you have travel mishaps that need TLC just find me.  No re-touch materials though.

See you in Cleveland.

on we go,

Joe

Jeff Haas, Anders Buen, Mike Molnar, Don Noon, and Julian Cossman Cooke had a great meal at the banquet. No one won.

So therefore it might be something good to tap into?

That was my strong impression, probably among the better potential learning experiences, aside from working for years in a major shop, for those who assimilate information faster that I do. Impressions from others who attended would also be welcome.
