Need help identifying violin made in 1700s

Recommended Posts

Welcome!  What does the certificate (written by whom?) say it is?  Take a few minutes and look at some other violin ID threads here to notice what sorts of images are necessary, and then you'll need to take good photos and post them to a photo-hosting site and post the link to them here.  You'll likely get some useful advice.

I think you will need to post the pics on photobucket or something like that and provide a link.

Doesn't the certificate ID the instrument? Who wrote the certificate? The first thing would be to take it to the shop that issued the cert. to make sure its real. If the appraiser is gone, and you think you need everything to be verified and updated, I'm sure somebody here can point you in the right direction, depending on who wrote the original cert, and what it reads.
