Tsk...just think how much better it could have been if they done a little more homework...

How much is your retainer? ^_^

Darned close to nothin', since I have never yet endorsed a product for compensation, nor am I much on board with the concept of doing so.

One possible exception:

I tried to get a discount from Burgess Vineyards in the Napa valley. Thought it might be fun to hand out a few bottles of Burgess wine, but they never responded to my inquiry. So I'm still buying it at retail, something around 40 to 60 bucks a bottle, handing a few out, and still resenting their unwillingness to go into some kind of symbiotic relationship. So, basically, they have managed to out-maneuver me so far by doing nothing.

It's pretty decent wine though.

I won't hold my breath waiting for them to say something similar about my violins. :)

I sense a unique marketing opportunity...win - win!

You could always offer to play the violin - on one of your violins...at their next wine tasting...

Burgess plays for Burgess ON Burgess...

Think of the photo shoot opportunities...and wine bottle label graphics!

Oh, the pain to listeners from me performing, after 40 years of not doing any serious practice (aside from a few quicky practicing hustles, for family and friends recording projects). Not that anyone would notice after a few glasses of wine. ;)

Exactly!

Maybe they'd even drink more!  You'd be hired back in a flash! :)

With that employment prospect in mind, do you think I should retain my current well-beyond-shoulder-length bleached white hair (although "cubicle cowboy" conventional hair has been what I have done for much of my life, so I'm not unfamiliar with that), or should I dye it blonde, or shave it into a baldie configuration, or a Mohawk?

These are issues which I'm really strugging with, particularly since David Bowie is all the news right now.

Sounds like a plan! I want pictures of the costume ideas!  :D

There is a small reference to the photo calling it a Lost-Wax casting by Richard Plouffe, of Pierrefonds, Quebec.  I believe its a prototype.

I found that too. Does that make it a prototype? Or has he recast an original?
