I figured I'll start making a viola using the 1672 "Forma Viola Contralto" shape from the great resources provided here: http://www.thestradsound.com/maestronet/stradivari-forma-by-addie

However, does anyone have some high-res photos, a poster, maybe scroll and archings etc. for violas made with this form they would like to share with me?
In advance, thank you.

Hello!

Is only one Strad viola made on this form - 1672 Mahler. Very nice instrument with willow (or poplar?) back, sides and neck. Really great photos can be find on Tarisio sites.

Forma P. M not in Sacconi, not in Pollens, not in Denis. Not the P not the P 1705. Catalogue number MS1062 in the Museo del Violino. Walnut wood, construction consistent with A. Stradivari, ink letters not consistent with other Stradivari forms.

It is part of one of the two forms do not put in the catalog but donated by Fiorini. Read introduction of Mr Cacciatori

From Christopher Reuning book :

"Violins reproduced (in the book) that match form MS1065 include : "Wilson,Trombetta", "Earl of Falmouth", "Hozier, Andrews", "Vinegra, Wallace" and "Gilfillan, Hoffmann".

The "Kreisler" and "Mischa Piastro" are closely related. Two violins have a related outline to MS1065 with slightly larger upper bouts : "Gillot, Eissler" and "Willmotte, Betti".
