Message Boards Vs Forums?

Strike anyone else as strange that on the top menu what is called "Message Boards" is called "Forums" below?

Guess we're all accustomed to it but confusing or newcomers?

Is it something to do with the software, perhaps?

Just a bit odd.

Well...they both mean the same thing...as far as I know.  And they're both 'old' terms...the forum/message board format came before any of the others I believe...

 

I would  hope newcomers aren't confused.

 

The only thing I can think of is that because the f/mb format is in decline (in favour of FB it seems) some very young folks might not have used it before, but it's fairly self-explanatory, so again, I hope no one would be confused...

Were it me I would simply change the top menu to read "Forums" just for consistency's sake.

But no big deal.........

if you are again consistent and use it on both top and lower menus

(or is the plural of menu also "menu"?)
