Hi, any thoughts on this cello? It doesn't seem like much to me, most likely just another German Trade cello, but I got it for a great price. And it sounds lovely. Much better than what I could buy in store for more than 10x the price. Any info on the cello/age would be much appreciated. No labels or writing inside that I can see.

Someone got a little crazy with white glue unfortunately. Any suggestions on how to remove/soften it?

Thank you, as always. :)

I would have thought the usual end of 19th C Schönbach (or not far away) box. It looks as if someone might have re-varnished it, or is that just your pictures? White glue can often be softened by putting a damp kitchen paper towel on it, but you will need a lot more patience than with proper glue.

Thank you, Jacob. Yes, I also get the idea that it has been revarnished at some point. Or at least parts of it. It seems there are a few repairs which has been done on this cello at some point. Using white glue unfortunately. Maybe the same person tried to remove some of the varnish.

I like it. White glue: paper towel or cloth, as Jacob says. Damp with water, try white vinegar if that doesn't work.

Will give it a go. Thank you, Christopher. :)
