Rue Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 Has anyone noticed a certain tension building up on MN? We had a blood moon on Sunday...and a lunar eclipse. Sadly we forgot to go out and look at it ...but friends have taken some fantastic photos. I Googled "violin full moon"...and I think there's something to my hypothesis that full moons make for grumpy violin-fans...
David Burgess Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I was gonna ask in another thread if there was a full moon or somethin', but thought it might be considered grumpy to ask, or make things even more volatile.
Addie Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I was gonna ask in another thread if there was a full moon or somethin', but thought it might be considered grumpy to ask, or make things even more volatile. It hasn't gotten to the mooning stage yet, but I think it's only a matter of time...
Dwight Brown Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I guess I skipped that thread. Good, I do not deal with conflict at all well. I'd make a crappy Klingon. As a science teacher I do not discount the power of the moon, and then there is the time I saw "American Werewolf in London" Yikes dlb
not telling Posted September 30, 2015 Report Posted September 30, 2015 I'm sorry you missed that super blood moon eclipse, Rue. It was pretty remarkable. I've been in a lousy mood ever since, though, because it didn't send me into labor. What's everyone else's excuse?
actonern Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 It's the age of Trump. Screw off, losers!
duane88 Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 I buried a ram's horn filled with violin maker dung in the back lot during the eclipse to attempt to counteract such things.
Rue Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 Well! You'd think if THAT didn't diffuse the tension...it would have at least induced labour! Tsk...nothing ever works as well as it did in the good old days... Hey! Did you forget the invocation that goes along?
Violadamore Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 The massive overcast we had certainly led to some grumpy astronomers hereabouts . It hasn't gotten to the mooning stage yet, but I think it's only a matter of time... Probably only because these discussions aren't on live video. I buried a ram's horn filled with violin maker dung in the back lot during the eclipse to attempt to counteract such things. You forgot the German rabbit crap. I'm sorry you missed that super blood moon eclipse, Rue. It was pretty remarkable. I've been in a lousy mood ever since, though, because it didn't send me into labor. What's everyone else's excuse? [sounds expressing extreme and most sincere sympathy]. Hey! Did you forget the invocation that goes along? The rather impressive Neopagan one, or the traditional string of profanity and obscenities ending in "Natural my a**!! Drugs! Drugs!, Gimme drugs!!!" ?
Addie Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Well! You'd think if THAT didn't diffuse the tension...it would have at least induced labour! Tsk...nothing ever works as well as it did in the good old days... Hey! Did you forget the invocation that goes along? I think she used the wrong invocation, and conjured up Jeremy Corbyn...
Violadamore Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 I think she used the wrong invocation, and conjured up Jeremy Corbyn... Good one. BTW, since he copied a rather common US political feat of shooting himself in the foot while it was in his mouth, I feel that it's just as well nukes weren't on the table.
Addie Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 No, not on the table, they're in the shadow cabinet, silly.
jezzupe Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 It's the age of Trump. Screw off, losers! I assume some of them are good people...? ppfff' fired!
romberg flat Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Has anyone noticed a certain tension building up on MN? We had a blood moon on Sunday...and a lunar eclipse. Sadly we forgot to go out and look at it ...but friends have taken some fantastic photos. I Googled "violin full moon"...and I think there's something to my hypothesis that full moons make for grumpy violin-fans... Can you all be more romantic? After all, it was the full moon, for God's sake.
Addie Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 "Blood moon" doesn't sound very romantic to me.
romberg flat Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 For me, being red or blue, full moon is always full moon, ergo romantic. /At least in first mo(ve)ment/
Rue Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 Blood moon...sounds angry... In a red rage kinda way...which would explain the grumpiness...it's filtered down...the intense rage is all up on the moon (thank goodness)...but we are experiencing little aftershocks...
romberg flat Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 Yes, true romance. Right stuff for aftershock. Wait! Don’t you think that Mr. Hor®o®witz looks a bit like Christopher Lee?
romberg flat Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 Wait! Don’t you think that Mr. Hor®o®witz looks a bit like Christopher Lee? That was a really very, very bad joke. Apology to everyone, especially to the great Maestro Horowitz.
Rue Posted October 2, 2015 Author Report Posted October 2, 2015 I think things are calming down... *keeps fingers crossed just in case*
romberg flat Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 I think things are calming down... *keeps fingers crossed just in case* Yes, we don’t want something like this, do we...
Ben Hebbert Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 I may have wittled a cello soundpost or two down to a point. Great thing about the violin trade is that there's always something in reach that will work as a stake when the vampires and werewolves get too close. Not sure about silver bullets though. I hear a rumour that a Gold Brokat has the same effect.
Craig Tucker Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 Yes, we don’t want something like this, do we... Ahh yes romberg - leave it to you to call up one of my absolute favorite classical renditions... Such style - such mastery of the piece - to call up and execute this slight 'personal rendition' of the ending execution! Mastery, says I. Yes, absolute mastery...
