Violadamore
Ahhhh....Signed and numbered 1/100, so one assumes 99 identical copies are floating around somewhere. For those who can't see it, for whatever reason, the offering is a "sculpture" dated 1993, consisting of 10 horizontal rows of 5 lightly charred violin bridges each, cast into a slab of clear resin and freestanding on a base, entitled "Burnt Bridges", by Arman (1928-2005). The auctioneers expect two to three thousand euros for it. I'd expect something of this level of inspiration at a housewares supplier or antique shop for $200 or so. Rodin it ain't, but at least no junk cars were harmed in the making of this "masterpiece".
Rue
I like the pun behind the work, better than the work...
violinbridges
It wasnt that long ago that used bridges were considered to have no economic value/ we can now consider the aboveas an exit plan for violinbridges.co.uk
Will L
Where is Christo when we need him. A few billion violin bridges, a meadow, and Christo, and voila: ART
