Rue Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 When MN is 'unavailable' for a day or so, where does it go?
Rue Posted May 11, 2015 Author Report Posted May 11, 2015 Could be. But usually then there's a page that says 'site temporarily down for maintenance'...
Omobono Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 "It's not just you............." I had to check.
Rue Posted May 11, 2015 Author Report Posted May 11, 2015 LOL...I didn't get that page...but it would have helped. We have intermittent internet, so it could have been just me...
Omobono Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 LOL...I didn't get that page...but it would have helped. We have intermittent internet, so it could have been just me... I didn't get it either, but if you ask Google the question "maestronet.com down?" a number of sites will give you the answer.
Omobono Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 Anyone else experience a brief down on the site about 15 mins back? Back within 10 minutes so shouldn't complain.
not telling Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 No, I would be surprised. I was writing a long pm and posting a bunch of photos with the message. Not sure but I think I would have probably gotten an error message during that process if the site were down. Or maybe my timing is just very good.
Omobono Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 my little test by Googling "maestronet.com site down?" again revealed that that was indeed the case but maybe that's not as reliable as I thought.
not telling Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Those pinging sites are pretty good. I've used them before too. I would bet now that I was writing while MN was down, and it was back up when I was attaching photos.
uncle duke Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 I believe it is bad-wet connections/signals cause by inclement weather.
Omobono Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 I believe it is bad-wet connections/signals cause by inclement weather. That is the case sometimes on individual computers and connections but it would affect all internet access not just a particular site like Maestronet? That's when a check like one of those below may be useful.
not telling Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 There are other MN-related quasi-solipsistic/philosophical questions I amuse myself with. Such as: who are the 70+ "guests" present on the site at any given time? And how does MN know that I've always wanted a hot Filipina bride?
Rue Posted May 20, 2015 Author Report Posted May 20, 2015 MN knows you want a hot Filipina bride?MN is suggesting I want to try Sibelius ...and buy a new pair of shoes...
not telling Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I'm pretty sure the weird sites I see are not any result tailored to my preferences, since that's what I see when I'm on the super locked-down computer at my work. You really don't see constant offers of international girls who are clearly willing to do terrible things? How odd.
Omobono Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 MN knows you want a hot Filipina bride? MN is suggesting I want to try Sibelius ...and buy a new pair of shoes... It may not solve the problem but log out of Google or other accounts and social media once you've check your mail or posts. Big Brother is watching your every move and customizing your ads. http://www.maestronet.com/forum/index.php?/topic/328307-mid-thread-ads/
MikeC Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Use the TOR browser, then they can't track you. Well the NSA can of course, they record the whole internet.
Peter K-G Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 NSA can't track TOR network yet, I hope they can soon because it is getting really bad with Bit coins and drug dealing. TOR was a naive thought that humans are kind by nature. Maestronet goes up in the cloud for a rest from time to time because it is on an unstable platform.
Rue Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 It may not solve the problem but log out of Google or other accounts and social media once you've check your mail or posts. Big Brother is watching your every move and customizing your ads. http://www.maestronet.com/forum/index.php?/topic/328307-mid-thread-ads/ Well...this is at times rather amusing...and way better than the 'good old days'...where we were inundated with porn sites that locked up the computer... I like shoes...
not telling Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 On my phone there is a car ad and something about a local festival. Not that I have to convince anyone, but I am rather boring. I wonder why my work computer is so dirty? When I see those ads for "new website rattles residents of -------" or "find local girls now" I guess I thought this was a default in some way. I truly believed those computers have constantly wiped search histories, being at a federal facility and whatnot. Hmmm, hilarious...maybe someone has been climbing over the firewall...not me.
Omobono Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 Be interesting to see if your ads change language as you move countries. Mine do...... I'm looking at one right now that wouldn't have appeared a few months back.
Omobono Posted May 25, 2015 Report Posted May 25, 2015 And how does MN know that I've always wanted a hot Filipina bride? I bet you don't get this one suggesting I need a new head of hair? (Did I order a shampoo product instead of a cake of rosin?)
not telling Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 You are correct...but I constantly get this awesome ad of some 80-year-old man who took some pills and now, with or without the power of photoshop, he has some really pleasant physical features. Plus the "dating" service ones offering both international and local girls. I am glad to not be the only one confused by the MN ads I see.
