BenAhernWild Posted April 26, 2015 Report Posted April 26, 2015 (edited) My name is Benjamin Ahern Wild and I have just completed my first violin under the instruction of Peter Lewis White at the University of New Mexico as part of the New Mexico Musical Heritage Project. I plan on entering my work at the VMAAI this upcoming year and have another violin near completion. Below is a link to some pictures of my first violin. http://imgur.com/a/cfubb Edited April 27, 2015 by BenAhernWild
Ken_N Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Hey Ben, looks nice. Way better than my first, or second. I saw some of your classmates work too, and I see that having a teacher, and a classroom setting, at least gets things done to more of a professional looking level. Mine always look more crude. I've developed everything on my own, and it is a very long learning curve. Good luck at the VMAAI; I might try to make it out there too.
Don Noon Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 Hi Ben, Sounds like we're going to have a good group at VMAAI this year. If you get the second one done, you can enter that one, too. I hope to have 3 in the competition, and I'll also have some in the "tone only" category for fun (I might even enter the first one I made... although I've had it apart many times for modifications).
