Renée
My entry into instrument making has come from one of the violin's ancestors - the rebec, for which I hacked together a bow out of the materials that I had on hand and while it performs, it's okay but not a great bow. I'm looking to make more for other violin type instruments (vioille, rebec etc) and wondering if anyone here has any experience with making the bows which go with them? Kate Mohr
I think that's the first time I've heard of those instruments, I've seen them before but didn't know what they were called. It looks like a majority of the bows used on those types of instruments are clip ins or a type of clip in. I haven't made a clip in bow yet but that sounds like a fun project for between now and the first of the year.
