I’m sure you can find more references on what my friend likes to call “the Google Machine.”

If I'd wanted to spend time Googling I'd have done so. Since you've already done it, it didn't make sense for both of us.

If that 1748 Busan really is in excellent condition (few of them are...), I saw one just like it a decade ago in NY. The MSRP was $750K at that time.

Since Robert seems so fond of the General Kyd, presumably he won't leave it exposed on the porch, like his predecessor once did.

Unless he wants it to become a CD cabinet! Haha ... Sorry ... the General Kyd Strad will always in my mind be associated with that funny story (albeit in reality it’s no joking matter!)

Someone should take a General Kyd copy to that guy and have him make the CD cabinet like he intended to do. I’m sure it will sell like bonkers! I know I would buy one ... a strad CD cabinet! Haha ... :P

Does that scroll look crooked to anyone besides me??

The photo is not quite square on, so its hard to tell.

The eyes do not look level, and maybe the scroll was soaked in water overnight to carve more easily   which can cause things to go lopsided.

Which begs the question, did Italians soak their scrolls ?

I just noticed:

Brompton footnote: "The later Italian scroll."

A lot of scrolls are "later", but that doesn't mean they're necessarily crooked.

They are "crooked" if they are  pretending to be original
