Can anyone please help me with methods on how to straighten a warped/skew violin bow? I recently got quite a few cheap chinese factory bows for free from a music shop, so I have enough practice material.

Thank you.

My usual standard for proper camber is that when a bow is laid upright on a rable, with it sitting on the frog and the tip, the curve of the bow also touches the table. The location of the curve on the bow can also be important. I'll pass that on to the experts to comment on. Also, when using a flame, or other heat source, there is a fine line between getting enough heat to bend, and actually burning/charring the bow. Be careful! I use a curved block of wood to bend the heated section over.
