Real Roth violin?

Recommended Posts

Love the description:  "On the inside there is 1 small round post holding the top in place

not sure if there should be 2."...

His claim to not know anything about violins sounds a little like 'his user name' to me...he knows what pernambuco is and that he should list the weight of a bow in his other listings.

The violin is an unusual size ...

Yes.... Is it a small full size violin, or a big 7/8 violin?

Note: The measuring tape is a bit off position, so I think the back measures about 13.3inches? With the total length about 22.9/23inches

Haha, yes that was rather funny.

I do not believe that any experienced buyer with 944 transaction would bid so high so early. I'd bet that e***e is the seller itself, or someone connected with him.

I considered that, but there are 3 different sellers who bid above the 2k mark. Though, I dont understand either why people bid early on. I usually wait till the last 30 seconds, and try to snipe at 4 seconds left.

The question still remains, is this a real Roth?

I'd say so, or at least a Markneukirchen instrument of the same time period and similar quality. It seems only in the last 15-20 years that anyone cared if their Roth was real. Now there are Roth specialists.
