French or Italian?

The ebay one looks like one of the Markneukirchen Fantasy "copies" to me, i.e. neither French nor Italian, also later 19th C. not 18th C.

The "extension" could be a special feature of antiquing, from the side view it looks like scratched.

curious that they didn’t need to bother “extending” the ribs too. Has the (grafted) scroll a through neck? I can’t quite make that out.
