Giovanni Corazzol Posted March 23, 2019 Report Posted March 23, 2019 This is an internet database I have found today: The CAMEO - Conservation and Art Materials Encyclopedia Online Its "Dye analysis" section covers many natural and synthetic dyes. The "Materials database" contains "chemical, physical, visual, and analytical information on over 10,000 historic and contemporary materials used in the production and conservation of artistic, architectural, archaeological, and anthropological materials".

Kae Han Posted August 27, 2019 Report Posted August 27, 2019 An interesting article from Acoustics Today - Supplementary Text Violin Acoustics including simulation on plate mode , rib coupling, shell modes, f-hole Helmholtz modes, sound post and base bar. See how the mode frequencies evolve with f-hole size, sound post off set.... , and how the modes evolve from nearly zero rib coupling to strong rib coupling. https://acousticstoday.org/supplementary-text-violinacoustics-colin-e-gough/
Anders Buen Posted August 30, 2019 Report Posted August 30, 2019 A new acoustic varnish study that might interest some readers. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/331340302_Influence_of_varnishing_on_the_vibro-mechanical_properties_of_wood_used_for_violins

MellowMoon Posted February 14, 2020 Report Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) I'd appreciate if someone advised me some material about electric violins. I can't find a thing. Thought it would be even better to post a separate thread Upd. Guys, please tell me which of those is better for a novice. I've found some articles and reviews already Edited February 16, 2020 by MellowMoon

Good database. Not perfect, but very useful.
