Joel Pautz
Hi all. I spent ages searching high and low for information about these models because I'd really like to try my hand at making them. I'm guessing there are others out there in the same predicament. Turns out that these discontinued Strad posters are available through inter-library loan to any library in the US (at least that's what one lady at Eastern Illinois University told me over the phone). The info you need is here:A, Stradivari 1712 'Davidov' cello:http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/all/vf-eiu/Record/1535394Brothers Amati 1620 viola:http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/all/vf-eiu/Record/1535144/HoldingsGaspar de Salo 1580 viola:http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/all/vf-eiu/Record/1535389They also have the 1742 'Alard' Guarneri Del Gesu violin poster (http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/all/vf-eiu/Record/1535143), and the 1693 cello and 1700 violin by Matteo Gofriller (http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/all/vf-eiu/Record/1502099) (http://vufind.carli.illinois.edu/all/vf-eiu/Record/1535374). However, these 3 posters can be purchased new from (http://www.orpheusmusicshop.com/posters.html).By the way Orpheus music shop recently re-released quite a few of the older, popular posters of instruments by A. Stradivari and Guarneri 'Del Gesu', so you might want to check them out again if you haven't lately. As you can see the posters are of the folded variety, but are otherwise generally in good condition (The exception being that some philistine attached a sticker to the top upper bout of the de Salo viola, and then removed it carelessly.) I returned them to my local library today, so it'll probably be a week or more before they are ready to go out again. In closing, always remember to support your local library when they are fundraising. Thanks, joel

I had been searching for quite a while for the Montagnana 1739 "Sleeping Beauty" cello poster. Orpheus lists it as "in stock," so I just ordered it, which I'm very happy about. Thanks again, Joe P.S. - I know from various postings here that other members were searching for that poster as well, so, folks, now's the time to (as they say) "get while the gettin's good!" Joel Pautz
JoeDeF, I did the same thing and purchased the 'Sleeping Beauty' Montagnana cello poster along with the Del Gesu 'Kochanski', 'Alard', and 'Lachmann Schwechter' Guadagnini violin posters. It's a little unsettling that there is no warning as to when a poster will become unavailable, and how long it will remain that way (really glad I bought the 'Conte Vitale' A. Guarneri poster when I did because it is no longer available). The 'Davidov' poster isn't even listed anymore. Anyway, I'm glad they made the decision to re-release some of the older posters, and I'm very glad that I was able to find the posters for these 3 particular instruments that I've been looking for.Joel P.S. my posters arrived a week or so ago, so you shouldn't have any problems. I was amazed that the beautiful new Gibson/Huberman poster is the same size as the Mantagnana cello poster - Sam Z and the Strad went all out for that one.
