christian bayon Posted October 6, 2021 Author Report Posted October 6, 2021 The FF holes are a bit smaller than the violins of this period, the objective is to reduce the wolf notes often seen on Del Gésù of this post 1740 period.
christian bayon Posted October 15, 2021 Author Report Posted October 15, 2021 Busy with tools making.

Rue Posted November 6, 2021 Report Posted November 6, 2021 Nice colour! Is the photo fairly accuate? Or is it different in real life?

Rue Posted November 6, 2021 Report Posted November 6, 2021 I really like it! Thanks for the extra photos.

Urban Luthier Posted November 16, 2021 Report Posted November 16, 2021 Nce - are you doing restoration on it?
christian bayon Posted November 16, 2021 Author Report Posted November 16, 2021 Just extended set-up, I stop to restore 18 years ago.
Andreas Preuss Posted November 17, 2021 Report Posted November 17, 2021 And I thought you made the cello.

Urban Luthier Posted December 8, 2021 Report Posted December 8, 2021 really attractive looking model, I like it! is that an ebony pin in the pegbox?

Ken_N Posted December 9, 2021 Report Posted December 9, 2021 I like how you copied it, but didn't try to copy the varnish. Highly flamed wood is enough. I'm glad you showed the picture of the original scroll. Then I saw the very very tiny pin dot on the scroll that you made, and I saw what Urban Luthier was talking about! I sure didn't see it. I turned back pages to find another photo! Ahh. I see you can tap on it, and get it to go huge. No one needs to see my work that large and in your face.

Do you copy the pin because you think it is original or do you copy it because it is there, though probably a later alteration? Or, I would definitely not do it if strings are not running about other pegs.
