christian bayon
I bought it 15 years ago and I don´t know the new product. I´ll check if it´s different.

Matthew Hannafin
That photo really gives me a fizzy feeling. Bravo!
Urban Luthier
Oh my! very nice. What are the aprox dimensions?
christian bayon
It’s the narrow model, like the one played by Stephen Isserlis.
Herman West
You're obviously a great master luthier, but also a wonderful photographer of your work. It's like Playboy magazines with violins. So, like someone asked a while back, what are the advantages of varnishing the back/front plates before assembling the entire instrument? Rue
A few unusual chords! But otherwise - sounding good!
Jim Bress
Most of the recording had too much edge to the sound for my taste, but towards the end, the sound smoothed out and became rounder. Words describing sound are tough. Anyway because the sound improved towards the end when the playing may have been just a little bit softer I wonder if the cello was just too much for the microphone causing distortion. The last part of the recording sounded very nice.
FoxMitchell
Looks beautiful! I also think it was too much cello for the poor mic, but still sounds great!
ctanzio
Fabulous flaming. Looks like it is covered in Tiger Fur. It even sounds like a growling tiger. Thanks for sharing.
christian bayon
Guarneri, Stradivari, Amati, Testore, Montagnana, maybe I´m loosing the focus! Mass production, time to slow down for Christmas time!

Beautiful as usual. Do use the same ground for poplar and pear as you do maple?
christian bayon
Yes but not colored for the pear-wood since it is already pink colored.

When I play a new instrument, I always start with minimal effort and increase over time rather than starting with maximum effort and learning that I’m using too much. Edward Byler
Beautiful stuff Christian ! On the Amati did you follow his arching design with the pinched top and deep scoop and if so what does it sound like ? I’ve wanted for a long time to try attempt one
christian bayon
Thanks, I made the arching in Amati style, deep scoop and quite pinched arching but not too hight (around 16mm) I was very reluctant because of the sound but I love Gidon Kremer sound on his Nicolo, so I decided to jump. It sound nice, very clear and focus.
