Christian:   Hello  I was in Lisboa last summer but unfortunately ran out of time to visit your shop. I have seen one of your bridges on-line and of course I love your copy of Il Portuguese.  If you look at my recent work you will see a similar copy I made with the help of a student.  Your work is very fine and very artistic.  I hope to meet you someday.  Peter White   look above in this forum.  if you happen to see Mr. Antonio Capela please say hello to him for me.

Nothing very original,I´m not very interested to make my varnish, it´s health damaged in my opinion. Like say Patrick Robin, a good varnish is a varnish you know well. And I know very well how use what I have.

During years I was using Koen Padding varnish, now I use Laverdure product, they are OK. I don´t think it´s the point, like to have a good plane or chisel don´t make you make a good violin. The experience you can have contacting, like restorer, with beautiful varnish help you to understand the goal, if you know what you are looking for, it is more easy to reach it!

I don´t like very much to use chemical product (like Old wood or Imprimatura dorata) on maple, I think it "kill" the flame!
