Janito Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Beautiful reproduction of a horrible scroll - I think you know what I mean. ------------ The other parts are great!
Michael_Molnar Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Beautiful reproduction of a horrible scroll - I think you know what I mean. ------------ The other parts are great! Right on, Janito. This reminds me of the story of how the Japanese first copied Western machines. - dents were included! Mike
WalterOB Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Did CA Testore build with a template or is it probable that cutting the turns was by whim and eye? You do very amazing work, by the way. I spent around an hour on your website the other day.
christian bayon Report post Posted June 6, 2013 I can't respond for him but I try myself to work without template, only raw drawing on paper, and try to develop my artistic vision skills ! I don't agree with you Janito, I don't think it's an horrible scroll, even if it's not the cremonese perfection. I love the Milanese school.
Melvin Goldsmith Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Great work Christian! I love the Milanese School too........, especially when we see them in 3D, I feel there is a real natural charm in these heads.
Janito Report post Posted June 7, 2013 I don't think it's an horrible scroll, even if it's not the cremonese perfection. I love the Milanese school. If we leave the concept of 'perfection' aside, for me there is a significant discordance between the elegance of the C and F holes and the shape of the scroll in the Testore you have copied. ps - I have the same reaction when viewing the Brescians. . Honore Malveaux Report post Posted June 7, 2013 yes i like the scroll. it is very characterful. it is tense and eccentric. also beautiful work.
