Just wondering if there is somewhere online I'm not aware of has any high quality pics of this legendary violin? The best collection I know of is here: http://www.kevinleeluthier.com/paganini/Paganini.HTM

Perhaps it is time I sign up for Cozio...are there many shots on there?

Thanks

Great series of photos ,never seen these ,shame they look so out of focus on my screen! :)

Great links.

Thanks, Jeffrey, I will have to save up for that book. Looks excellent, wish I had been able to make it to the DG exhibit.

Also, Oded,  I had somehow not been able to find the pics on that page, thank you.

On a side note, I emailed the museum (same link Oded supplied) last night hoping to get whatever schedule exists for performances on Il Cannone...I've always wanted to go hear it and figured I'd be able to at some point. On the museum site, it says that it is played for 2 hrs per month by a man in the museum. As we know, it has been played by a variety of artists over the years. I was informed that the violin has not been played in a concert since 2010 and is essentially on a policy of not being played now. I wonder how strict this will be and if I will ever have the chance to hear this violin.

T Ford -

You can find a recording of Salvatore Accardo playing Il Cannone here http://www.allmusic.com/album/salvatore-accardo-plays-paganinis-guarneri-del-ges%C3%B9-1742-mw0001367983

Others of more discriminating taste may disagree, but I found the recording very enjoyable.  I am always on the lookout for recordings on special instruments.  Another that may be of interest is James Ehnes' Homage on which he plays various instruments from David Fulton's collection.  That one also comes with a DVD.
