Thanks Michael. I looked all over the site for it. Using 23504 it comes right up. Weird. I'll try both the pr179, and pr264.

The 179 is out of stock. I guess it's the pr264!

Kremer’s website always had issues. Back order PR179 to have a supply on hand. You will like it.

I will be doing some experiments soon with it. Stay tuned.

I’m back at the bench varnishing the Coronaviolin. First, I’m working on adjusting the wood stain. Here are some photos. The lighting is a combination of a 6500K fluorescent overhead and a small ~4700K bench light. Camera is an iPhone 11 Pro. I’m halfway done with staining and burnishing. In a few days I will put on the ground varnish.

Very nice. Can you share what you used for the stain? It resembles what I have used.

Can you tell if the top is torrefied or not?  It looks a little light for torrefied, but dark for fresh wood.

As I was recently reminded, Mike gave away 9 torrefied sets of spruce.  I cooked 10 sets for Mike, so I was wondering where the 10th top ended up, and if this might be it.

Don,

Not torrefied,  but sun tanned. The remaining tops are being inventoried with all Mike's stuff.
