T Ford Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 I've heard Abram Yampolsky, the Russian violin pedagogue, wrote an excellent study on Paganini. Know where I might be able to track this down? My teacher said he read it in Russian years ago and I can find no trace of it online. I'm not even sure it has been translated. Thanks
devaraja42 Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 I just did a quick search at the Sibley Library for you, no luck there... I myself have been looking for the Paganini Caprices edited by D. Dounis, but absolutely no luck anywhere!
T Ford Posted November 30, 2012 Author Report Posted November 30, 2012 Thanks. I will continue searching and report if I find anything.
Will L Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 Yes, please let us know T, because if his insights are as good as what he offers in the "Principles of Violin Fingering," then they would be worth having.
