Ferdinandus Labeled Mystery Violin

Greetings,

I have a violin I was hoping to gain some insight on and remove the mystery.

Here are the pictures:

https://plus.google.com/photos/116196677963252158265/albums/5792910021151987601

Not much when looked at by local people and I have investigated enough online to know that due to the pins in the back that it is not really a Ferdinandus Gagliano

The inside label reads:

Ferdinandus Gagliano Filius Nicolai fecit neap 1781

Here are some dimensions:

Overall length: 23 1/4

Width at fastest part of the body: 7 13/16

Width at skinniest part of body: 4 1/8

Length of body: 13 13/16

Any idea of true country of origin, age, maker, style of violin etc? looking at the button it seems to be a French style but there are some pictures of Italian makers that have similar buttons.

Many thanks for your time,

Danny B
