I would risk up to $300 on any of those in a pawn shop in Bloomfield

New Mexico if I had a notion they were good fiddles and if

they just needed a little work I could do myself.

If I were in a fine violin shop in Boston or Philadelpha

$4000 to $10,000 would be enough if the instruments are in

ready to play condition, carefully retouched and set up,

they are what the dealer says they are

and the dealer has a generous exchange policy.

This is key: I examined them personally.

Sebastian, since English isn't your first language, please carefully read Jacob's and Tim's cautionary statements: DO NOT trust a violin's label.

Unless you know who made the violin, don't pay more for it than you would pay if it had no label at all and was made by a machine in the cellar of Wing Fong's Noodle and Violin Factory in Guangzhou.
