Chanot violin rib thickness?

I'm building a Chanot style violin (cornerless) and am thinking about leaving the ribs a bit thicker then standard to increase the strength, due to the lack of corner blocks. I'm wondering how thick I can go without having trouble bending. 2mm? I'm a proponent of Craig Tucker's cold bending method. Any suggestions?

My thinking is that you don`t need to make up for no corner blocks. I would not make the ribs thicker than 1mm.

No need to make the ribs any thicker than usual.

If the ribs are well flamed don't leave them thick or you'll have a hell of a time bending them.

Got no idea what the 'cold bending method' is, I use a hot iron a wet cloth and a bending strap.
