stephen maloney Posted July 7, 2011 Report Posted July 7, 2011 Hi, so I've seen some members have cool titles like "Dinky Member" or "Master of the Universe" or whatever instead of "junior member" or "enthusiast". How do I do that? I'd like to change mine to something clever. thanks, Steve
Will L Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Sorry I don't know. But I wanted to comment that your picture looks amazingly like the wonderful actor Stuart Margolin.
stephen maloney Posted July 9, 2011 Author Report Posted July 9, 2011 Sorry I don't know. But I wanted to comment that your picture looks amazingly like the wonderful actor Stuart Margolin. ...and in particular his unforgettable character: Evelyn "Angel" Martin ! One of my faves. I actually look somewhat similar.
Will L Posted July 9, 2011 Report Posted July 9, 2011 Thanks for mentioning the "Evelyn" which was one of many little strokes of genius on that show. I hope someone will explain how to change things, 'cause I've been thinking of spiffing up my title.

kubasa Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 I've been wondering the same thing too. Must be like a secret handshake sort of thing....
Alberto R. Posted July 16, 2011 Report Posted July 16, 2011 I guess it depends on the number of posts you have posted
stephen maloney Posted September 23, 2011 Author Report Posted September 23, 2011 Never got a response on this. Still curious.
Janito Posted September 24, 2011 Report Posted September 24, 2011 OK - just to show you that I am in the inner circle and 'know' things. - Go to profile - Go to edit profile - Go to Profile information - Enter your preferred term under "member title" - Viola

There is no "member title" at "change profile information". Scott

Scott S Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Still searching for the Holy Grail. If someone would be kind enough to share this secret with me, I promise to take it to my grave. Now I am a believer of every secret society conspiracy theory that I have ever heard. uninitiated, Scott
Jeffrey Holmes Posted October 16, 2011 Report Posted October 16, 2011 Has this worked for anyone else? There is no "member title" at "change profile information". Scott I'm having trouble figuring out why this issue is all that important... though I admit to being amused by a few titles that have appeared recently. Just so you all know where I'm coming from; The "ratings" were a pain (a real distraction, really... when I find myself moderating discussions about that sort of thing, I start to wonder...), so I asked admin to remove them. Hope we don't get to that point with the member titles. But... to try and answer the question, the membership title entry is located just above the birthday selection when in the editing mode of your profile.
stephen maloney Posted October 17, 2011 Author Report Posted October 17, 2011 the membership title entry is located just above the birthday selection when in the editing mode of your profile. This is the screen I get in that section - it is not as you describe...
Scott S Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 This is the screen I get in that section - it is not as you describe... Ditto here steverino, large dittos. Thanks for explaining that steverino, you showed the screen better than I could have. Maybe we should lay off now or some members' custom member titles could go the way of the ratings and we would be to blame. I don't care for emoticons or LOL, but believe me, I am laughing. Denied

Denied You're right of course. Lyndon being especially attached to his "wannabe moderator" title. I don't want to push anyone over the edge. So denied we shall remain. Separate but equal, I'm afraid. Maybe that kind fellow Jeffrey......I daren't raise my hopes too high...I...can't bear....
Alberto R. Posted October 17, 2011 Report Posted October 17, 2011 I'm still thinking it depends of the number of post (rank). Only the admin has access to this to change it, or an user with special permissions. IPBoard member ranks
Scott S Posted November 28, 2011 Report Posted November 28, 2011 steverino, how did you do it? Congratulations, you must be so proud. Scott
stephen maloney Posted November 28, 2011 Author Report Posted November 28, 2011 Here : Edit my Profile / Member title, it is right below where it says "Show X latest visitors on my profile"). Finally worked!

palousian Posted December 14, 2014 Report Posted December 14, 2014 Dang, well, here we are three years later and I guess things have changed, since there is nowhere in my profile where I can change my member title. It's too bad, because calling me a "Senior Member" implies I have some knowledge or expertise that someone would need to pay attention to, which is seriously not the case. If there is some way to do this in the current incarnation of maestronet, I would really like to know. Thanks, Paul
