Jonathan Rubin Report post Posted July 22, 2010 Of possible interest to some here. The violin playing at the end is me.
skiingfiddler Report post Posted July 22, 2010 That's a pleasant video clip. I wonder how many violin makers are ambidextrous? I didn't clearly get the name of the Los Angeles maker. Can you provide it?
Jonathan Rubin Report post Posted July 22, 2010 That's a pleasant video clip. I wonder how many violin makers are ambidextrous? I didn't clearly get the name of the Los Angeles maker. Can you provide it? It is Robert Cauer, my employer. www.cauer.com
David Burgess Report post Posted July 22, 2010 Nice playing. But you're not going to try to convince me that Robert got un-frantic enough to sit down and make a violin, are you?

Robert is the only person I know that can "Hurry up and take a nap."
skiingfiddler Report post Posted July 23, 2010 Robert is the only person I know that can "Hurry up and take a nap." It is always a good idea to hurry any activities that stand between you and a nap.

Jonathan Rubin Report post Posted July 23, 2010 OK, but that's not what we're talking about. Robert hurries the nap. He has been compared to a hummingbird.
Dean_Lapinel Report post Posted July 24, 2010 That's a pleasant video clip. I wonder how many violin makers are ambidextrous? I didn't clearly get the name of the Los Angeles maker. Can you provide it? Yes ...gorgeous filming job. Watch it in HD. I suspect most makers are, by necessity ambidextrous. Repetitive work such as planing, hollowing fatigues most mortals like myself (David B's an exception) so using the non dominant hand becomes natural.
