Magnus Nedregard Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 With the ever-increasing choice of more or less useful strings, I become at times a little frustrated in my attempts to identify them all... especially the peg end silk wrapping is rather meaningless without proper information about what it means. Evah Pirazzis with blue peg ends and a black ring, or light blue rings and yellow ends and argh! Quite often someone comes in with a string solutions that works really well, can't remember what it was, and it could take half day to find out, as far as a few minutes of googling could reveal f.ex. Pirastro has not published any complete colour-code chart, and that is a shame. So my question goes; has anyone found an up-to-date overview of the colur codes?
Torbjörn Zethelius Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Hi Magnus, this is from the Sound post. Violin_String_Colour_Chart.pdf
Roman Malamant Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 Hi! Magnus if you need also cello string's code (as it seems) you can find color chart for individual strings on Pirastro website itself. For example Evah cello chart is in the end of their flier here : http://www.pirastro.com/pdf/flyer/cello/celloflyer_eng.pdf
Brad Dorsey Posted June 3, 2010 Report Posted June 3, 2010 So my question goes; has anyone found an up-to-date overview of the colur codes? I have found three different on-line string identifiers: http://www.simplyviolin.com/page16/page16....ng%20Identifier http://www.thesoundpost.com/files/en/Color..._new_violin.pdf http://www.quinnviolins.com/qv_stringidsearch.shtml
