The Ole Bull del Gesu Project

Recommended Posts

Sometimes it pays to procrastinate before you start building things. Looks like more pictures of the Ole Bull are going to be available.

Thanks for the link!

Procrastinate you say!

Why put off today what you can put off tomorrow!

If this is a big hit, I wonder what the next instrument will be??????

If something like this is done again then I would hope that the selected instrument wouldbe something other than a strad or guarneri. This one (the Ole Bull Guarneri) is interesting just because it's just a little too strange for too many makers to have copied otherwise. Do we really need an exhibition to get 100 different makers to all submit a Titian Strad copy? No, they build them anyways and I don't think that would be too interesting of a show. Maybe an exhibition where an Amati or a Bergonzi which was owned by someone famous would draw enough attention and still be interesting.

It is great link, and I dowloaded the zip files, opened them. 160 of successively taken pictures in additon to detailed plans.

It seems they need a renderer for 3D viewing.

I checked the site, there is screen shot of possible 3D viewer, but no trace for downloading such viewer.

May be one of the participants knows about availability of such viewer if there is any.

Thanks for the help and generosity in advance.
