Wait a minute, didn't we just do this? Has it been a year?!

:) Happy Birthday!

Yes isn't it wonderful? The older we get the less time we need to wait between birthdays!

Happy birthday Jeffrey.

Jeffrey - Happy Birthday from the Southern shores of Africa.

I hope that the three previous days were less hectic than mine.

??

Tomorrow I turn 70. Rose has invited family and friends around. To make it memorable she hauled out a couple of legs of Mountain Reedbuck from the fridge and began preparing a goulash (the weather demands something like that) - so why does the the oven element choose this week to fail?

Last night I dragged the oven out of its "built-in" and set about finding out how to remove the failed element. A steady marching up and down the stairs to the workshop and back for just one more tool...

Threw in the towel at around 22:00. Laughed off violin-making class today and resumed the contest. Finally managed to remove the heating element. Drove to the agents - their quoted price almost blew away my socks. I was saved by the fact that they didn't one in stock. The counter hand was kind enough to whisper the wherabouts of a firm that would make me one while I waited. Well for a difference of nearly 80% I was happy to wait.

Fired up the oven about an hour back - cooked it at max for about 45 minutes to burn the element clean and am waiting for it to cool down so that I can slip it back into its cabinet. Should be ready for duty in about an hour...

Hope your birthday was more peaceful - cheers edi

Happy Birthday, Jeffrey !

May the wind always be at your back

and the alcohol away from the varnish.

Jim

Keep alcohol away from varnish? That's a bad thing? :)

Happy Birthday!
