Joe Christian
Here's one from the window on an overcast day, another from just outside the window during a nice sunset and one back towards the window from under one of the 200 year old beech trees. --Joe

Dean_Lapinel
Ahh, I get the picture... People are starting to cheat a little and show their "backyards". While my backyard has the sawtooth mountain range...Hah! Here's mine:
Roger Hargrave
Well I really thought I had the best view. but I'm ashamed to show it against all yours. However, I do have had a family of barn owls living in a nest box under my workshop roof. They joined us sixteen years ago when we built the place. We take a look once a year. Now that's something worth looking at. And its worth waiting 12 months for as well. From what I can see some of you could do the same. Go for it. I'm going to grab me an owl and make a nest for it
Matthias Lange
The view from my workshop window isn't too fascinating. I "only" have a skylight. These two photos, however, are taken from my balcony, which is next doors to my workshop. Matthias
Dean_Lapinel
Spring through late fall I like to work on the deck whenever possible. Let the chips fall where they may. Shade provided all day by mountain basswood. (I was trying to get the hummer to land on the fiddle.) Second view is fall of year and Balsam mountains upstream. I grabbed my fly fishing tackle when I saw that stream! I really need to start getting out and casting some.

So many beautiful images in this thread that one would think that all luthiers are rich folks. But then again...in a different sense of the word we all are, aren't we? David Burgess
What the heck is David Burgess doing looking in your window? Neil I continue to scour the world looking for a genuine soundpost/pole dancer. I had received an anonymous tip. Sorry for any intrusion. Oded Kishony
We built our home here in Central Virginia because it reminded us so much of Tuscany where I spent over a year learning violinmaking This window is next to my workbench. Oded Drats, more trees! That's what I see when I look straight up ;-)
Don Noon
Oded, Those trees are blocking all your natural light . Gotta clear some of them out
Ken Pollard
That's what I see when I look straight up ;-) Nice skylight you have there. Very clear glass. And it is like looking straight up while in Tuscany.

Option1
Wholly Carp! Oded's got the Hubble as a skylight! Oh and I now want to move to Bavaria. Wonder if Martina wants to adopt a 50 year old child... Neil
hrobert
I don't have a window in my workshop either; unless you count the window in the door going out into the messy garage (my wife would kill me in my sleep if I posted that). How 'bout a view from front of shop back toward house? Not current but its a heck of a nice photo anyway!
JPherson
Though not as nice as some i count my blessings that i have a window. Jesse

Magnus Nedregard
I am absolutely amazed by the fantastic rural settings you all work in. I am ashamed to post my own "view" here, since it is hardly no view at all compared to the outlook most of you have! All I can see is the backyard. I am only a few minutes walk from the beautiful Oslo harbour tough, as bragging about ones surroundings, is also permitted.
DutchViolins
Here's my contribution: I have my workshop on the attic. That allows a beautifull view looking trough the window on the roof. To show the differences between seasons I put two pictures: Frits
