Bridge setup

When having my latest 5 string Violin played by a very experienced player she mentioned that something didn't seem quite right when switching from the A to D string.

I had concentrated on setting the correct string heights above the finger board and neglected the simple eyeball check of lining up the E and D strings at the bridge, the A and G strings and the D and C strings to check that the A, D & G strings all appeared to be the same height above their adjoining strings.

The A was obviously higher in comparison to the D & G strings and once the A was lowered at the bridge to match the others the problem was rectified.
