Janito Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 I have been downloading MN discussion threads recently as Word documents. It was only today, when I went to check one of these, that I found that the original Posters' names have not been saved. This is a major problem because knowing who the poster is/was plays a considerable part in establishing credibility of the information archived. Is there anything that can be done to improve this situation?
upnorth Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Go to the [options] at the top and select [print this topic], then got to your browser and click on [edit] then [select all] then [copy]. Now go to your word processor program program and open a it. Got to [file] and select [paste]. Next name the file [save as] and you're done.
Janito Posted February 11, 2009 Author Report Posted February 11, 2009 Thanks Ken. Your method will work. I was referring to the document obtained when one chooses: -Option -Download this topic -Download Microsoft Word version
catnip Posted August 3, 2018 Report Posted August 3, 2018 Has there been any update on this? Do most people just use copy / paste into a Word document?
Michael_Molnar Posted September 2, 2018 Report Posted September 2, 2018 I copy and paste. Sometimes I print it to file as a pdf.
Janito Posted September 2, 2018 Author Report Posted September 2, 2018 I have not been able to download a thread in its entirety for some years now. Copy-paste across pages is so '20th Century'...and a pain in the butt.
