Is this Mr. Zukerman?

Recommended Posts

Hi:

Is this Mr. Zukerman? Last time I saw him on tv, he was thin and had dark hair.

(Actually, I like him better like this; he seems more human. I wonder if he was ill for a while? This is someone whom I like very, very much. I hope he wasn't ill!!)

yes, that's definitely him. He's looked like that for a while now.... as far as I know he's only suffered from fine-living rather than illness .

I'm glad to hear he's not been ill, but he doesn't look like that now, b/c I saw him on I think it was the Grammy's not too long ago (few months?) and he was thin, with black hair -- his usual look.

Here's an article from January that has a picture. Hard to tell if it's a recent photo, though. Quite dashing, I think.

I heard him play an all Brahms recital at Cornell University in about 1980, it was heaven. He played both violin and viola and I sat in the front row. I am not even worthy to shine his shoes.

I remember I enjoyed watching the video of the Internet2 violin lesson when it first came out. Unfortunately the video is nowhere to be found. The lesson took place in Dec 2000, so Mr. Zukerman was actually quite a bit younger than today. Now 8 years later, the "giggling" 17-year-old student Wu Jie in the lesson has graduated from Manhattan and Juilliard. She is a violinist in the up-and-coming Escher String Quartet. How time flies!
