Brugere on ebay

I have no idea who made this violin but, for me, it does not have the quality I would expect to see in what would be a moderately expensive instrument if genuine. That MOP tailpiece and carved chinrest also put me off.

There are bargains to be had on eBay but it's a gamble - I wouldn't bet on this one.

The MOP-decorated tailpieces seem to be characteristic of German instruments from around 1900. The better ones are fairly complex. That one is one of the cheaper ones.

Zino, do the other Brugeres have the same meager-looking heads as this one? To me, the head doesn't look like much effort was spent on it - I have a German factory instrument from about the same time (with a more ornate tailpiece) that has a nicer head.
