What timezone?

The time stamps are either incorrect completely or based on a timezone in Europe.

This puzzled me.

I have noticed that the date stamps vary depending on whether one browses as a guest or logged in.

Internally, all time stamps are GMT. If you are not logged in, it defaults to Eastern Time. If you are logged in, your profile allows you to specify your local time zone, which will adjust all times so they are "local". If your time is out by an hour, then you need to adjust your Daylight Savings Time setting in your profile.
