Janito Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 I am having the same problem as FiddleCollector. My Message is showing full, but I only had about 4% usage in the old Forum. Has the mailbox size been reduced drastically? ----------- I am trying out my first emoticon!! ----------- Fluffed it!
Guy_Gallo Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 My messenger is full as well. Before I archive all of those old PMs and delete them -- is the storage space being increased?
Guy_Gallo Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Looks like even though you're being told Messenger is full, you can still get a new message. I just did. And it looks like the standard limit is 50 messages. I just did an archive of ALL and I'll post the results. If only fifty were saved.
Marie Brown Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 I'm looking forward to the results of Guy's experiment. For some reason I like having the old messages around, but am lazy about dealing with them. (packrat slug chicken me)
Guy_Gallo Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Results not so promissing. Archiving ALL resulted in no email being sent at all. So none were saved. I would hold off on archiving until we know more. So seems this feature isn't enabled at the moment. Update it did archive 50 messages and sent them to my email. Ended up in my spam folder.
ghunt Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 The post limit has been raised to 1000 for all members.
Guy_Gallo Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 What about the archive feature. When I tried it, I think it only archived the most recent 50 messages (not the entire inbox).
ghunt Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Yes, the same happened for me, I could not select the whole folder. I will find out how to change the values in the number to be "all".
Tim McTigue Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 The post limit has been raised to 1000 for all members. Rats, a day too late. First thing I did upon seeing the "Full" status was delete virtually all of the PM's, sent and received. Oh, well, I did save a few...
Janito Posted May 24, 2008 Author Report Posted May 24, 2008 The first Rule of software upgrading is... Anticipate cock-ups, so never delete anything; change the file name instead etc. Might just have to Go-Back-To-Start. Very, very painful, if old files have been lost. ------------------- This reminds me of the aphorism: Progress is great...you first!
