reedman Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Perhaps good news this afternoon from the AFM in time for traveling this summer--Delta is now allowing "small musical instruments and guitars" onboard without checking. Specific measurements were curiously missing, however. caveat emptor
Steve_W Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 This is good news if true; I understand that Delta was one of the worst US airlines when it came to not allowing violins to be carried on. I hope we can get an official confirmation from Delta! As of yet, there's nothing about this on their website...
stern Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 I have carried many violins on Delta jets and never been questioned once, by TSA numerous times but never by Delta Air Line personnel. Also I've seen many, many passengers carrying instrument cases both on and off Delta airplanes both domestically and internationally.
Danielle Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 i flew delta last year with a violin and it was fine generally the case has to be less than 46 linear inches
