bean_fidhleir
He struck me as someone highly intelligent and talented who was on the verge of collapse because of how trapped he felt in the life his parents had shaped for him. I've always wondered whether he was ever able to pull together a life that he himself could identify with and feel good about. Anyone know? legato.fiddle
I remember reading something in here a long time ago that said he teaches kung fu now
oldgeezer
I don't know. I met him once and he is a fine young man, very bright, talented. and good hearted. I suspect that his problems may have been much more serious than he admitted to on the board. Hopefully life is very much improved for him. staylor
I met him, and phone him occasionally ever since. He is doing very well, but unfortunately he gave up proffesional classical violin, and even though he is still very active with jazz violin etc. and is a great virtuoso violinist, his main thing is his "Kang fu Academy". I think he is earning well too.
rainyann
Didn't he go to Arizona?

Fellow
Hi all, For your information "Huang" is same family name "Wong" but different spelling in English. The name is very common, like Jones, or Smiths. I do not believe a violinsit will give up violin entirely. He probably is taking a "break". I hope he will return soon
Desert Rat
A quick Google search yielded the following link to an early 2005 thread on a martial arts forum. It's pretty amusing; The same "HKV" personna seems to have had a polarizing effect on other forums, as well. ">http://forum.kungfumagazine.co...hread.php?t=35527 Enjoy! Marie Brown
Omigosh! Makes me wanta log in as Huang-Lye Horsenot and start flinging quasi-randomized Zen verbiage. Good thing Igotta work for alliving. At least our friend didn't pretend to be dead and log in as his bereft family chockfull of genius genes (artificial insanization?). MANFIO
I think all old members remember HKV, he was very intelligent and active here. I hope he will come back one day.
DR. S
I thought he was banned from the board. He certainly got into some rows with other posters.

The Doc wins the door prize. I had been away from forums completely several years ago. At the time I left, it was A. Dean's glory days. I came back at the end of the HKV saga. The literal end since he was in fact, banned shortly after that.
oldgeezer
Yup, HKV got way out of control and got tossed. Over the years there have been a number of characters on the board who were prolific posters and stirred things up. They can be entertaining but may burn out or get tossed. Some people get obsessed with Internet bulletin boards and forget that they are guests of the owners. It's just a bulletin board where any idiot can post messages and many often do so. Our hosts don't moderate with a heavy hand but they do maintain a reasonable standard of behavior for posts to the board. I appreciate their hospitality. DR. S
That's an Idea. I'll change my handle to "Idiot Poster". I'm sure there are some on that will agree. I enjoyed HKV's tirades, but completely understand the "tossing". He had raw intelligence, was passionate, thought provoking, immature, perhaps talented, and put up a front of tremendous self confidence - perhaps conceit. Quaver
Kevin Huang is still active on forums at Violinist.com "http://www.violinist.com/discussion/response.cfm?ID=9772">www.violinist.com

Fellow
Hi all, I read some of Kevin Huang's post on Violinist.com. He seems to be a very out spoken guy. Interesting fellow. Why does he not post here? I am sure he would stir up some discussions. HEY, Kevin over here.

stillnew
Yes, but if he was banned, can he post here? I appreciate what he has to say on violinist.com as well. Could he be unbanned?
Fellow
Sorry to hear that he was banned. Kevin, Don't forget practice. I mean practice your violin, not Kung Fu. (Kung Fu could hurt youself)
Andres Sender
He was banned for a reason. The standards at Maestronet are pretty easygoing, so I think second-guessing the banning is wandering a bit far afield.
